The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Education has officially launched the application portal for the 2025 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program. This initiative is designed to empower young Nigerians with hands-on skills that enhance their chances of employment and promote entrepreneurship.
What is the FME TVET Training Program?
The FME TVET Training Program offers free practical skills training coupled with monthly stipends and startup support to selected trainees. The program aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by equipping participants with industry-relevant skills.
Available TVET Programs in 2025
The Federal Ministry of Education provides two main tracks under the TVET program:
1. Short-Term Certificate (STC) Program
- Duration: 6 months
- Target Group: Beginners, school leavers with only primary education or those without formal educational qualifications.
2. Vocational Education & Innovation (VEI) Program
- Duration: 1 year
- Target Group: Individuals with some educational background or informal skill training aiming to formalize and enhance their expertise.
Entry Requirements for FME TVET 2025 Application
Applicants must fulfill the following criteria based on their chosen program:
Short-Term Certificate Program:

- Valid Bank Verification Number (BVN)
Vocational Education & Innovation Program:
Applicants can submit any of the following:
- Proof of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) such as apprenticeship or informal training
- First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)
- Non-formal education certificates from NGOs, religious groups or community learning programs
